Welcome Spring 2017 FYE Students!
Welcome to the grave- "Beyond the Grave: What Old Cemeteries Tell and Teaching the Living" that is!
There are many First Year Experience courses from which to choose, so thank you for picking mine! You made a good decision! This class may cover depressing things to think about, such as death, dying, cemeteries and funerals, but it will be taught in, I hope, a non-depressing way.
We will have some interesting speakers and off-campus activities such as visiting nearby graveyards and cemeteries and hopefully fit in a visit to the spooky Old Charleston City Jail.
CofC senior Carly Phillips is your Peer Facilitator. You are in good hands with her, as she is experienced in running this important part of the FYE experience.
Carly, who is majoring in psychology and business, will meet with you on Thursdays at 3:05 p.m. in Bellsouth Room 405.
Your work in her class will be part of the final grade I give you, so please do well in her component, as well as mine!
Carly tells me she has Blogger experience, so please turn to her for assistance if and when needed.
Let's have a great "grave" experience!
