Patrick Harwood's introduction to his research post about his late grandfather Frank Gomez. It was trimmed in Adobe Premiere Pro then uploaded to my YouTube channel, then downloaded to this post.

Normally my students present before the class their research blog posts about a personal ancestor. But because of the ongoing coronavirus crisis in the world and schools and many other things and places closed, this is not possible.
So instead I'm asking my students to record themselves on camera giving an introduction to their person and their research methods.
Specifically, I want the students to cover the following in their videos:
- Introduce yourself
- Say who you have researched and his or her connection with you: "great grandmother on my father's side" for example
- Then say why you selected this person for your research
- Next, go into how you researched your ancestor: who did you speak with, what resources did you access (old photo albums, newspaper articles or obituaries, online tools, etc.)
- Finish by talking about what you learned from your research, maybe what surprised you and/or what you found especially interesting and noteworthy
- The length of the video is not limited so long as you address these topics
- If possible, record your video on a camera with an SD card- this will make it easier to share it on blogger (use the insert video tool- above it's the movie clapper, next to the insert photo tool) and write a few sentences to set up your video and also include an embedded link to your blog post
- If you find you are unable to get your video from a camera such as your smartphone to a computer, then try to email me your video.
